Three clubs run at aikyam space, all free and all in Malayalam. You do not need to sign up. Come to the space at the time below and say who you are.

Seats are limited, and preference goes to low-income and under-served households from Fort Kochi, Mattancherry and nearby areas.

Sunday. Dance Club is running.

⛔⛔ “Except Mondays” is not merely pointing at the wrong day now — the sentence shape itself is dead. After the 10 August rewrite, Stitching, Curiosity and Reading run Monday to Saturday and Dance runs Saturday and Sunday. The union is all seven days, so there is no day on which the room is shut, and no “except X” sentence can be true of this schedule.

⭐ The replacement is better than the thing it replaces, because “except” was discarding the most useful fact on the page. Saturday is the fullest day — all four clubs — and Sunday is not closed, it is Dance only. A neighbour deciding when to come needs exactly those two facts, and “except Mondays” could never have carried either.

⛔ So the room line states the rule and the exception separately: “Open every day, 2–6 PM” and “Sunday is Dance only”. And the component’s job changes from open or closed to what is on today — a weekday rule can no longer produce “Closed today”; only a dated closure can.

The clubs

⛔ This heading said “The three clubs” and the number was wrong — there are five. Owner, 10 Aug 2026: Reading Club and Curiosity Club are real and active, named three and four times respectively in the July guide and again in August. So /clubs/, which lists three, is incomplete — the guides are right and the schedule page is missing two clubs.

⭐ The lesson is about the component, not the copy. “Three” had been written into a heading, a lede and an intro sentence, so a true count became a design constant and the layout quietly asserted something only the content should say. The section now holds any number of clubs — the grid is auto-fill, nothing counts them, and adding a sixth is a content edit with no CSS change.

⛔ Never write a count into a heading. If a number is worth showing, it is worth deriving from the thing being counted.

⭐⭐ Two quotations, and they are the only two on this page. Both come from people who took part — a stitching student and a dance student — and both are unattributed in the source (“shared one of the students”). ⛔ They stay unattributed. Consent to appear is not consent to be named, and the source chose the weaker form. ⛔ No photograph is attached to either, for the same reason.

⭐ They sit INSIDE the club, not in a strip of their own. A testimonials section is a page about praise; a line under the club is evidence about that club, read at the moment a neighbour is deciding whether to walk over. ⛔ There is no “what people say” page and there should not be — it would mix these with the visiting- organisation quotes, which answer a completely different question.

⛔⛔ These two name neither aikyam nor the space, which is why a keyword search missed them both. “I never thought I'd be able to dance at this age” is the strongest sentence anyone has written about this room and it mentions the room nowhere. Choose testimonials by reading, never by matching.

⚠️ Three clubs have no quotation and get none. ⛔ Nothing is written to fill the gap, and the component is absent rather than empty — the same rule as the photographs.

⚠️ Provenance, stated because it is now a publishing risk: the dance line sits under 7 June in the guide and the stitching line under 21 April. ⛔ A quotation sitting under a day heading is not evidence it was said that day — the guides mispair photographs and repeat whole paragraphs across days. Neither date is printed here, and neither needs to be.

⛔ Every “Just turn up” line was removed, and the absence is the point. The rewritten live page says nothing about turning up versus writing first, for any club. Every value we held was inferred — and the two clubs previously marked “write to us first” were marked that way because their times were unknown. Those times are now published, so re-deriving the answer would be reasoning from a premise that no longer exists. It is recorded as dropin:? and the page says nothing rather than guessing.

⚠️ Reading Club is new here — it runs Monday to Saturday on the live page and had never appeared on this mockup, because until today nobody had published its times.

⛔ Aparna NS is left exactly as the live page has it. /team/ was edited three minutes later and lists the Tiny Entrepreneurs as Haseena, Nasini Asharaf and Mary Gracy, with “Aparna R” as an aikyam fellow leading communications. The two pages disagree. Recording the published claim is not the same as endorsing it, and nothing moves until the owner settles it.

⚠️ “Tiny Entrepreneur” removed from Aparna N's credit, and the rest of that credit deliberately left alone. Owner, 10 Aug 2026: she is not a Tiny Entrepreneur — she is the writer and a team member, and /clubs/ credits her wrongly. That much is settled, so the label is gone.

⛔ What is NOT settled, and is not being guessed at: whether she actually facilitates the Dance Club, and whether “Aparna N” here and the “Aparna R” byline on a June story are one person or two. The Dance credit is left exactly as /clubs/ has it until somebody who knows says otherwise. Correcting half a fact because the other half is wrong is how a second wrong fact gets published.

⛔⛔ A whole section was DELETED here, and that is the fix. It was “Also running, times not published yet”, holding Reading and Curiosity as rows with the unknown named where the time goes. The 10 August rewrite published both their times — Monday to Saturday, 2–6 PM — so they are ordinary club rows above and this section had nothing left to describe. ⭐ The named-absence pattern worked exactly as intended: it held a gap visibly until somebody closed it, and then it was supposed to disappear. Leaving it would have been the more common failure — a page still explaining a gap that no longer exists.

⛔ Owner, 10 Aug 2026: “all write to us — should just say contact us and lead them to the contact us page.” He is right, and it is sharper than the fix I had planned. I had measured “write to us” rendering four times on this page and intended to vary the wording. ⭐ Varying it would have kept the real defect: a page that tells someone four times to get in touch and never once says how. One link, to the page that exists for it.

⭐ And it is now the honest instruction as well as the tidy one. With drop-in unknown for all four clubs, “just turn up” and “write to us first” were both unsourced claims. “Contact us” asserts nothing we cannot support. Two problems, one fix.

Why this page is the schedule

One page carries the times, and everything else links to it. When a time changes it changes here, once.

⛔⛔ REVERSED 10 Aug 2026, and this is the sharpest thing on the page. This note said the monthly guide was wrong to list “Stitching Lab, 2 PM–6 PM” on Mondays 10, 17 and 24 August, because /clubs/ said the club was closed on Mondays — and the owner confirmed /clubs/ was the right one.

⛔ The rewrite says Stitching runs Monday to Saturday. So the guide was correct all along, and the page we ruled in favour of was the wrong one. The earlier decision resolved a real contradiction by picking the wrong side, and the rewrite reverses it silently — nothing announced that the ruling had been overturned.

⭐ Two lessons, and the second is the one worth keeping. First: nobody will now walk to a shut room on 17 or 24 August, so the urgent correction this note demanded is moot. Second, and larger: when two sources disagree, “which one do we trust?” is a worse question than “why do two exist?” Picking a winner felt like resolution and simply recorded a preference — the contradiction survived, and the preference turned out to be backwards.

⭐ That is the argument for one schedule store, stated properly. Not “two copies disagreed and we fixed the wrong one” but two copies can disagree at all. One store cannot contradict itself, so there is never a side to pick.
